Shortly after purchasing the home, the owners engaged Toale Interiors to transform the early-2000s interior from a cool, gray backdrop into a warm, layered, and inviting family home.

The design centered on natural materials, rich textures, and a collected sensibility, incorporating leather, velvet, stone, grasscloth, and classical details throughout. In the front living room, neutral grasscloth, a black fireplace, an oversized convex mirror, and a mix of velvet and leather seating create a space that feels equally suited for entertaining and everyday family life.

Removing the dated columns between the living and dining rooms improved the flow of the home, while warmer paint tones and new drapery softened the original architecture. The kitchen was completely rebuilt with a more functional layout, new cabinetry, a statement Hoodsly hood, unlacquered brass finishes, and a casual eat-in dining area.

What began as an “Agreeable Gray” canvas has been transformed into a warm and welcoming home designed for gathering, relaxing, and growing together for years to come.
